Christ and Sugar Loaf

Sometimes, people ask me: "What is better, the Christ/Corcovado or the Sugar Loaf?"

 

My answer is always: Both are great, though I would not do them at the same time of day, maybe not even on the same day as you invariably will start to compare and the two are not to be compared. Both of them offer unique views over the city of Rio de Janeiro.

 

In recent years the Christ has received lots more visitors because he is regarded a World Wonder and I also really like to visit him.

 

The views are spectacular and a photo of Christ Redeemer and the city from above, is the thing to do, especially on a clear the morning when he looks towards the sun.

 

Please be avare that from June 2013 onwards, tickets for the train have to be bought in advance via the site http://www.corcovado.com.br/. 

 

 

 

 

 

The sugar Loaf is great to visit for sunset, when the sun disappears behind the hills in the West and slowly the lights all over the city get turned on.
